This paper presents the results of a two year study on the impact of irrigation water use on water quality near Greeley, CO. Data on irrigation application efficiency, deep percolation, and nitrate levels were collected and analyzed. Results indicated a wide range of application efficiencies and deep percolation percentages. NO3-N levels in the pumped ground water often exceeded EPA drinking water standards. NO3-N in the South Platte River water was below the EPA standards.
